Kovacic exclusive interview with MARCA: – ▪ Kovacic: “I’d like to play more in Madrid because I love football and being on the pitch. I know it’s difficult playing in Madrid, especially because I was very young when I arrived, but for that reason I think it’s best for me to leave to another club.” – ▪ Kovacic: “In another club I’ll have the chance to play regularly as a starter. It’s an opportunity that I have & that I want right now. All the players are important at Real Madrid but I’m young & if I don’t have continuity, I’ll never be able to show my full potential.” – ▪ Kovacic: “These past 3 years with Real Madrid, I had incredible teammates, winning trophies but I’ve not been completely happy because my contribution to all that wasn’t the maximum and it’s something I want to change. When I don’t play, I’m not happy.” – ▪ Kovacic: “I don’t know the new manager (Lopetegui) and I’ve never spoken to him but I know we need to talk about my future. I’ve been at Madrid for 3 years, I’ve not played much and it’s something that’s affecting my status with Croatia. It doesn’t make me happy.” – ▪ Kovacic: “Real Madrid is an extraordinary team, full of great players but maybe now I’m too young to contribute 100%, I don’t know. It’s best to change teams.”
